Born on August 5th, 1927 in Caudéran (Gironde), Louis-René Berge was a French engraver, famous for his burin engravings.

He was awarded the Burin Prize of the Taylor Foundation in 2002.

Louis-René Berge was elected member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in November 2005, to the seat n°III of the Engraving section (Raymond Corbin's seat).

He died on February 13th, 2013 in Paris.
