Born October 15th, 1957, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Jean-Baptiste Sécheret studied at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris, since 1976. In 1983, he won the Paul-Louis Weiller prize. Between 1984 and 1986, he completed his training at the Casa Velasquez de Madrid, which permitted him to immerse himself in the world of engraving and closely study Spain's artistic heritage. He has been a member of the Peintres-Graveurs Français since 1999. In 2013, he received the engraving prize Mario Avati from the Académie des Beaux-Arts and the Prix Leonardo Sciascia Amateur d’Estampes, in Italy.
