After studying the visual arts at the Institut Saint-Luc Tournai in Belgium, Jean-Michel Bacquet enrolled in the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris in 1977, in the studio of Pierre Carron and Pierre Faure, as well as that of the of Bruno Lebel.
Jean-Michel Bacquet lives and works in Provence, in Flayosc in Var, and in Conques in Aveyron.
